Abstract:

Case Report: Recently a 20-day-old layer flock with mortality has been submitted to the PCR Lab. Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) has been detected in the clinical samples. Results: A phylogenetic tree based on a partial S1 gene sequence showed Iranian IBV variant located in LX4-type cluster. This cluster include all QXIBV-type detected in China and European countries. The highest sequence homology (> 99%) was found with that of a group of the Chinese QX but less similarity with European QX-like (>95%) and another Chinese QXIBV (>94%). Conclusion: Comparison of Nucleotides sequence with H120 and 4/91 IB vaccines shows only 76.9 and 79.7 identity, respectively.

The emergence of Q1 genotype of avian infectious bronchitis virus in Iran, 2019: the first report

Background: Avian infectious bronchitis (IB) is an infectious viral disease of chickens. The effective protection of chickens against many different infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) variants is not achieved unless the circulating genotypes in the region are identified and the cross-protection of the potential of vaccines in use is assessed. Aims:In a monitoring program of IBVs, a new genotype ...

Full-length Characterization of S1 Gene of Iranian QX Avian Infectious Bronchitis Virus Isolates, 2015

Background and Aims: Avian infectious bronchitis (IB) has prevalent in the most chicken farms during recent years, in spite of the IB vaccination program which has been widely performed in Iran. To better understand the molecular epidemiology of IBV in Iran, the full length sequences of S1 gene of Iranian QX IBVs were determined and phylogenetic analysis was done using some sequences of IBV. M...

Detection of infectious bronchitis virus.

The detection methods for infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) are reviewed. Advantages and disadvantages of available techniques of IBV detection by virus isolation, antigen or genome detection, and serology are discussed. Factors of influence on the level of success in detection of IBV after a disease outbreak are discussed, as are the possibilities and dangers of strain classification by protec...

Pathogenicity study of Iranian genotype of avian infectious bronchitis virus (IR-1)

Avian infectious bronchitis (IB) is a major cause of economic losses in poultry industry. The IB virus primarily affects respiratory tract, but various strains differ in their tropism for other target organs such as kidney and alimentary tract. The objective of this study was to estimate the pathogenicity of Iranian IBV variant (IR-1), which is limited exclusively to Iran. Specific pathogen fre...
